Whatever happened to building things so that they'd last? You know, Edison's light bulb is still burning. The one he first designed is still operational. I think it's on display in his museum. I have to change light bulbs every few months. Oh, how the times have changed. If a light bulb lasted a lifetime, there would be no industry for it. Imagine handing down your light bulbs down to the next generation. "Take care of that son and it'll last you another fifty years." Just don't let the kids play ball in the house. I remember how upset my parents were when we broke something. Just imagine breaking the family light bulb. How tragic. They could've just raised the price and kept the quality. This light bulb costs one hundred dollars, but it will never need replacing.
It just seems that everything nowadays is being modeled after this inferior light bulb; cars, televisions, refridgerators. The list could go on and on. We were apparently too efficient. So much so that the next generation of products is now worse that the last. Technology not always makes improvements, apparently.
