Secret of Life

The Secret of Life is to be happy with what you have. The other guy's life is always going to look more appetizing. He's always going to be more successful, seem happier or better than you are. Even if you become that guy, you will be envious of someone else. No matter how good you are at something, there's always going to be someone else that comes along who is better. It's frustrating that life seems to keep coming at you with problems. It kicks you and knocks you down and then kicks you in the teeth while you're lying there trying to recover. We live in such a rich society, even what we consider poor would be blessed to someone elsewhere. I try to adjust when things get tough. I try to make the best of the situation. When you're used to your electricity, and plumbing working all the time, it's a real travesty when they are not for one reason or another. You're amazed that you can cook an entire meal using only one extension cord. Though I'm not dirt poor, I have friends with a lot more money than I do and wish I had it to make life easier. But they don't have the love of a family and would trade all their earthly possessions for the feeling that I get on a daily basis.So try to be happy with what you have. No matter how bad things are, they can definitely get worse. Be thankful for all that you've got and stop driving yourself insane because you think someone else has it better off than you do.
