I know that people are struggling and unemployment is at its highest in like 20/25 years but I keep losing or potentially losing stores I like. I read an article that Krispy Kreme was going to be closing stores. You know it's hard times when people are not willing to pay the extra even for something as good as Krispy Kreme. Blockbuster is supposed to be closing some stores and the Sharper Image & Circuit City are going bankrupt. I never bought anything from Sharper Image but they had some amazingly cool things there. I was mostly sad that I missed the going out of business sale on a glow in the dark remote controlled mustache trimmer or whatever else was the trendy new item of the month.
First gas prices got outrageously high, and now they are back to being reasonable and suddenly that's an even worse thing. They said the worst thing for the ecomony was the drop in gas prices. The housing market is a mess. Now is the best time to buy a house, if you have amazing credit, money down and are financially able to risk losing money on your investment if the prices don't rebound soon. I'm just glad that I have heard no rumors of layoffs in my company. But only time will tell. Things have to get better soon, but I fear they might continue to get worse before they do. We have been eating at McDonald's more than I would like. Not because their food is so amazingly good, but just because their prices are more reasonable than the competition. Which brings me to my next article. What happened to price of fast food? Stay tuned for more details....
